There are many options for getting around in the Rocky Mount area.

North Carolina is known for its roads, and Rocky Mount is no exception. There are many significant roadways running through and beside the city of Rocky Mount.

Rocky Mount is only a few miles from I-95 and about halfway between Florida and New York, making it a convenient place for highway travelers to stop to rest or stretch their legs during extended road trips.

🚗 US-301 runs from Delaware to Florida and predates the nearby interstate, making it a great place to find local businesses.
🚗 NC 97 runs for 64 miles through the state and carries considerable traffic.
🚗 NC 43 runs 120 miles across the state and carries considerable traffic.

A major railroad track runs through Rocky Mount, and Rocky Mount has a train station.

Several airports are located near Rocky Mount.

✈ Rocky Mount-Wilson Airport (KRWI) is a local regional airport only a few miles southwest of Rocky Mount.

✈ Tarboro-Edgecombe Airport (KETC) is located several miles northeast of Rocky Mount. They had cheaper fuel a few years ago according to my information.

✈ Wilson Industrial Air Center (W03) is about 15 minutes south of Rocky Mount.

✈ Pitt-Greenville Airport (KPGV) is a 30-minute drive from Rocky Mount.

✈ Raleigh-Durham Airport (KRDU) is an hour's drive from Rocky Mount.
